Pre-COP31, the official preparatory meeting ahead of COP31, will be held in Nadi, Fiji on 5–8 October 2026. Fiji represents one of the Pacific regions most affected by climate change.
Pre-COP meetings allow Parties to exchange views ahead of the main conference, identify possible common ground and clarify negotiating positions.
Hosted by Fiji, this meeting is particularly important for ensuring that the climate vulnerability and financing needs of Pacific and island states receive dedicated attention at COP31.
